* Listen to radio for information. Follow instructions given by officials.
* Provide first aid or get help for injured or trapped people.
* Stay away from damaged buildings , dangling electrical wires or areas with possible gas leaks.
* Watch for fire and be prepared to contact fire department.
Probably from the electrical wires or gas leaks. Not the thunderstorm itself but man-made and implemented tools. If a thunderstorm occurred in the middle-of-nowhere Canada I doubt there would be a fire.

Alright guys I gotta get to class before Mr. Belding catches me participating in these shenanigans...this thread feels like high school...damn.

Actually, based on the amount of forestation in canada, the likelihood of a thunderstorm causing a fire is quite high. All it would take would be the appropriate combination of dehyrated or dying timber, and a stray lightning bolt.

While a large fraction of forest fires are caused by humans, the majority are still caused by natural events, mostly lightning.

I will ignorantly dismiss your argument due to the fact that you are working for the United States Department of Agriculture and not the Canadian Department of Agriculture.

Smokey is American. He was jealous of the Mounties' sweet hat and killed him for it. You're blind if you can't see that.
