The Quitting Smoking Thread
After many many years... I am at this moment smoking my last Cigarette. Wish me luck.
also If anyone comes across any good vids on what smoking does.. to amplify my cause... (or if you have free time) post some. :D |
Quitting smoking is pretty rough, I hope you're in it 100% otherwise it won't work. I've tried to quit at least 20 times and never managed to pull it off.

If you can make it 3 days you can make it the rest.
Or so Ive heard. |
3-7 days covers the physical addiction. The mental addiction never goes away.
|
crap.... then I'm in it for another 60 years (if i live to mid 80's) then... fuck !
|
I have 2 friends that've quit it for good.
|
Yeah, I know a bunch of people who have done it. You got this.
|
the only time i ever crave a cig is while drinking and now that most states have banned or will be banning indoor smoking its become a lot easier to quit completely. not to mention the cost factored in with rising gas prices.

You have my full support. |
You crazy people and your being addicted to things.

Yesterday I quit drinking alcohol and caffeine, I quit smoking, and I quit eating out. For 30 days I'm going to cook my own food and of course eat Subway, and play DDR and exercise and see how I feel by the end of it all.

I recently quit my x but i still stalk her on facebook and the space (does that count?)... Only thing I have quit was soda not pop SODA, but i replaced it with a gatorade addiction /sigh |
I don't think I could ever quit eating out o.0
|
not eating out isn't that hard, and the caffeine isn't hard after the first few days of headaches go away (assuming you drink enough to have a dependence on it)
my guess is if you manage to keep it up for at least the first 15 days, you'll become so used to it that you won't even realize you're still doing it for the last half. |
I've always had the mentality that I'd quit 1 at a time and make it a slow process, but years and years went by and I still hadn't quit anything, so I figured I'd just have a really painful couple of weeks and wipe the whole thing out. Right now the cigarettes are kicking my ass the most, followed closely by the caffeine. I'm finding myself ridiculously tired and motivating myself to exercise is rather difficult. I'm most certainly trying though, yesterday I did a 2000 cal workout on DDR accompanied with a little weight lifting, and today I did a 2300 cal and some ab work. It's hard to get motivated, but doing all that shit keeps my mind off the things I'm giving up.

You make me so proud.
And by the way, Staras, when I said eating out, I didn't mean at restaurants =P |
