...that after 6 years of training under my sensei Kevin McMurtry, I have received my black belt in Shotokan Karate. This is something that I am quite proud of, and although my sensei was lenient on me during the test, he assured me of his confidence in my ability. I hope to truly earn this honor in the months to come.

i studied shotokan for a while. i was about 3 months from my black belt test before i completely ran out of time to train.

Grats man, I did kick boxing and Tae Kwon Do, but it seems like nothing compared to the discipline you apparently had to show. The idea of doing something so voluntarily and being thankful for having leniency shown towards you as well as the heartfelt desire to honor your sensai shows the amount of effort you put into it. Grats again.

I did Tae Kwon Do for 2 years. Kicked my step dads ass when he beat me for not mowing the lawn and that went bye bye. Now i'm too lazy. Grats though man.
