In some recent reading on elitest jerks forums it seem that with bubble/divine sac we can eat most of the tantrum damage. but only one time since I would probably be the only ret pally and bubble is still a 5 min cd. it will nerf my dps, but for the greater good, oh well.

Other ideas are we could have some healers dps in the very start of the heart phase since no one is taking any damage at that point since the add havent yet spawned and the MT isnt getting hit. this is also mana willing, but that extra little bit is what we are looking for.

I could potentially pop mine when he tantrums since he stops doing direct damage to me. I doubt i would be in range of most of the raid however.

the second the heart dropped, i was dpsing full out till it went back in.

Divine Sacrifice will remove roughly 2 of my heals and that's it. It helps, but it only absorbs 150% of your health, and Tympanic Tantrum hits for a what seems like about 600000 damage raid wide, so you'd knock roughly 37k off that if you have a buffed 25k health pool.

Just read this on wowhead:

"By Jaidean 3 days ago (Patch 3.1.0)
This ability is incredibly useful on XT-002 Deconstructor. Using Divine Sacrifice and bubble, you can mitigate a great deal of damage during his tantrum. Currently, from what another paladin and I have discovered, the "up to 150% of the paladin's health" doesn't count if you have bubble active.

So, for 10 seconds, you get 30% (40% talented) of raid-wide mitigation."

"By Planck 1 day ago (Patch 3.1.0)
This is true. I tried it yesterday in a couple 25-man XT-002 attempts. It keeps "sucking" up 30% damage while under the effect of Divine Shield or Hand of Protection.
40% is enough to mitigate enough damage so that when the tantrum is over everyone in range will be alive since that takes 120% of everyones damage, 120-40=80% so everyone will come out alive with atleast 20% hp left."

Not sure if this is intended or not, but ive read many confirmations about this in other places, so its definantly working this way. Haven't heard any plans on changing it either.

Well they're refunding talent points today, so I'll put it in my holy spec. I have it worked into my Retribution spec Marb, but I'm not sure how good or bad that spec is, feel free to give it a look.

My retribution spec is evidently completely wonky for pure PvE purposes, I guess the new hotness is 0/17/54.

Im gonna stick with divine purpose while we progress, ill try to figure out how to get imp might back in my spec. But yeah what i link from elitest jerks what about they were talking about how it not working how its worded on the tool tip like Mercator said. I was using this on the boss we were working on last night with the panther adds. seemed to work real with with the pull.

I don't think we'd need this really. Tantrum is fairly easy to heal through and it really isn't/wasn't what was keeping us from killing the boss.
